Meet Bianca
Hi I’m Bianca, a registered Psychologist, Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor and Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator.
I’m an experienced psychologist with the heart of a social worker. Based In Newcastle, Australia, I currently work exclusively online, which means I can support people across Australia from the comfort of their own homes. I have a passion for research and evidence-based practice. Alongside my private practice and supervision work I’m also completing a PhD in the area of Complex Trauma. When I’m not working you’ll find me outdoors with my family and my dog, or with my nose in a book.
My Appraoch
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, non-pathologising perspective. I believe that healing happens in safe, compassionate spaces - where all parts of you are welcome.
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) to support both mind and body in the healing process. These approaches allow us to work gently with the nervous system while exploring the inner world of parts, stories, and strengths.
I whole heartedly believe that choice and agency are fundamental for the healing of trauma, and as a trauma-informed practitioner I am committed to addressing the power imbalances inherent to Western Psychology and trauma treatment.
My Experience
I bring over 11 years of experience working in mental health across different settings, including:
Private practice
Inpatient mental health care
Group Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Community child and adolescent mental health
Supporting people with complex trauma, self harm behaviours and suicidal ideation
Experience supporting currently serving defence members and those medically discharged
Providing supervision to other psychologists and therapists
This background has shaped my ability to sit with complexity, hold space without judgement, and honour the unique journey of each person I work with. Prior to registering as a Psychologist I worked across a range of community mental health roles including youth development in remote Aboriginal communities, residential youth work, foster care case management, family intervention and supporting refugee minors and families.
